Born in Switzerland, Ryth Kesselring immigrated to Québec during her childhood. Her interdisciplinary practice consists mainly of textile, electronic and sound art. Her work has been presented in various national and international exhibitions, including the Biennale de Sculpture de St-Jean-Port-Joli and the Sonic Art series in Hamilton. Kesselring has been a part of several residency projects, notably at the Icelandic Textile Centre in Blönduòs, the Maison des Métiers d'Art in Québec City and most recently one at Eastern Bloc in Montréal. She has been involved in several research projects and has worked at the subTela studio, where she contributed to the development of interactive embroidery and flexible electronic circuits. She offers master classes in e-textiles, teaches visual arts and regularly leads creative workshops in various schools. Her work has received several awards, including the Culture Montérégie digital award. She is currently a Master's candidate at Concordia University with a specialization in textiles and her creative research project is supported by prestigious scholarships from the Fonds de Recherches du Québec - Société et Culture and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
