A graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s production program, Michel Lemieux never ceases to amaze with the originality and scope of his creative output. In 1984, his multidisciplinary solo show, Solide Salad, marked the national scene and was performed for over three years on four continents. Since then, this artist, designer, scenographer, director, composer, performer and director has always been at the forefront of the performing arts. In 1990, he founded, with Victor Pilon, Lemieux Pilon 4D Art from which singular shows in which new technologies intensify the audience’s sensory and emotional experience were created. Their notable works include Dreamscapes, Icarus, The Beauty and The Beast, The Tempest and NORMAN.
Lemieux also created The Disappearance of Lady Macbeth, a digital work for the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts, which opens the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition. He recently completed ICARUS, an artistic experience in virtual reality, presented among others at the Cannes XR Festival. Michel also co-signed the show TORUK – The First Flight (Cirque du Soleil) and Continuum at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium in Montréal. He also co-created Cité Mémoire, a major multimedia urban itinerary visible throughout Old Montréal and downtown since 2016 and which has been enhanced with numerous tableaux since its unveiling.
