Alicia Turgeon is a cultural worker and multidisciplinary artist based in Montréal, Québec. Active in the field of media arts and three-dimensional practices, She is primarily interested in cultural ecology through the concepts of accessibility, intergenerational exchange, radical care and design for appropriation. Turgeon recognizes the essential role that alternative approaches play in spaces of shared production and explores, through her own independent research, the notion of authorship through open design and peer-to-peer methodologies.

Since March 2021, Turgeon has served as the Executive Director of the Eastern Bloc Artist Center, where she worked for several years as the Artistic Coordinator. She holds a BFA in Sculpture from Concordia University, where she received various awards including a Sustainability Research Award (2020) and an Experimental Learning Grant (2020-2021). She is currently a board member of the Art Matters Festival and the Regroupement de pairs des arts indépendants de recherche et d'expérimentation (REPAIRE). Turgeon is also a research technician for the Kinawìnd Public Art Lab under the direction of Nadia Myre (Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Arts Practice).
