(taxes and fees included)In this masterclass, Eliane Ellbogen (intellectual property lawyer and founder/ex-director of digital art centre Eastern Bloc) will explore the common ground between digital art and IP law. This 90-minute masterclass is aimed at artists, curators, and industry professionals who are keen to learn more about protecting and enforcing their rights in a creative context. Ellbogen will teach the fundamentals of copyright and other IP rights and more specifically how they relate to digital art practices.
Attendees will learn about IP ownership and licensing principles, as well as the legal mechanics involved in creating, producing, disseminating, and distributing digital art in today's economy.
Hexagram-UQAM room: The room SB-4105 is located on the 4th floor of the Pavillon des Sciences Biologiques at UQAM (141, avenue du Président-Kennedy). The entrance to the building is on the southwest corner facing Kimberley Street and is wheelchair accessible. The elevators are located on the left as you enter. The nearest metro station is Place-des-Arts which has a ramp. Accessible toilets are available at the entrance of the room.
